This year’s annual ball is taking place on Friday 13th October 2017 at Athena, Leicester 

Our Black Tie flagship event is a highlight in the legal and social calendar and attracts more than 500 lawyers, judges and other professionals every year. We are proud to be supporting Zinthiya Trust and Samaritans Leicester this year. Join the MALA Committee – Deadline 23 June 2017

MALAThe Midlands Asian Lawyers Association is looking to recruit up to three new committee members to join the organisation this summer. These are entirely unpaid roles.

The committee currently has 8 members. The committee runs all aspects of the organisation, which includes organising events, attending committee meetings, liaising with third parties on issues affecting Asian lawyers, and organising the flagship annual ball in October.

The organisation is headquartered in Leicester, where the committee meetings take place, and the events are usually held in the Midlands.

Applications are requested from people who meet the following criteria:

1. Have a passionate interest in diversity in the legal profession.

2. Be a practising solicitor, barrister, legal executive or paralegal, living and working predominantly in the Midlands area.

3. Willing to attend all committee meetings and events (where possible) and play an enthusiastic part in developing the organisation for the benefit of Asian lawyers.
